Celebrity hair stylist Chad Maxwell, renowned for his work with stars like Amelia Gray, Kaya Scodelario, Amelia Dimoldenberg & Erin Doherty always had a dream to expand his influence in the beauty industry with the launch of his own hair accessories line, 'Loxx Hair Inc.' Drawing from his extensive experience in high-fashion styling and editorial shoots, Chads aim was to offer chic, functional hair clips that blend professional quality with everyday elegance. Loxx hair inc is a new commitment to making salon-grade styling tools accessible to a broader audience.

With years of hands-on experience styling some of the world’s most recognized faces, Chad Maxwell has developed a deep understanding of what truly works when it comes to hair accessories. Drawing from countless hours on set, backstage, and in the salon, he’s poured his expertise into designing the perfect hair clips—ones that combine strong hold, comfort, and timeless style. 1. “What inspired you to create LOXX, and what gap did you see in the hair accessory market?”
"I noticed how frustrating it was for so many people—especially those with thick or textured hair—to find clips that actually work. Most clips are either too flimsy, too tight, or just not designed with real comfort in mind. LOXX was born from a simple idea: to create a hair clip that’s strong, stylish, and genuinely kind to your hair and scalp. I wanted something functional, but also beautiful enough to feel like an accessory—not just a tool."

2. “Why was it important for you to design a clip that works across all hair types—from fine to thick and curly?”
"Because hair isn’t one-size-fits-all—so why should hair clips be? I’ve heard too many people say they feel excluded by accessories that don’t hold or that break easily. LOXX had to be universal. We tested it across all hair types to make sure it was strong enough for curly or coily hair, but still gentle enough for fine or fragile strands. Inclusion was a must from day one."

3. “Can you walk us through one LOXX feature you’re especially proud of and why?”

I’m most proud of being able to launch a business that supports a charity. Our partnership with Mind: the mental health chairty was something I decided on very early on. Looking after the beauty of your head inside and out just seemed right and will always be my number 1 favourite feature. If i had to choose something about design it would definitely the curved teeth. It might sound like a small thing, but it changes everything. Most clips press too hard in one spot, which causes breakage or discomfort over time. We designed ours to contour to the shape of your scalp, which means even pressure, less tugging, and a lot more comfort—especially if you're wearing it all day."

4. “What were some unexpected challenges during the development of LOXX, and how did you overcome them?”
"There were so many! One of the biggest was material. I didn’t want to make another plastic clip that would snap in a few weeks and end up in landfill. Finding a material that was durable and sustainable took time. We ended up using cellulose acetate—it’s biodegradable and beautiful, but working with it meant rethinking every part of the mold design. It took a few failed prototypes and some late nights, but I’m glad we held out for the right fit."

5. “If someone tries LOXX for the first time, what do you hope they feel?”
"I want them to feel that instant ‘Finally, this works’ moment. But more than that, I hope they feel seen. Like someone actually thought about their hair type, their needs, and their comfort when designing it. That’s what LOXX is about—creating small moments of beauty that feel effortless and inclusive."
